CHILDREN CLUB

Our target people are dalits and tribals, they are belongs to agriculture coolies family. Many of their parents and grandparents are unable to read, or write. All children are from impoverished backgrounds, where their families are unable to feed, clothe or educate them. Many of the families earn $1 per day. They all live in Villupuram district; most of the lands are looking for monsoon rains and frequent rains. If it fails to rain whole year these areas will be drought and dry. These people have to search for the livelihood support works in near by cities and towns. While they float to near towns all family shift for collective work and income. This attitude disturb children those who study below secondary education. These children are belongs to uneducated parents. All of the children in the village have missed some form of education ranging from one month to five years. Many of them have worked in a variety of industries, for example, as daily wage farmers or at cotton mills, or brick chambers. Much of this work required a huge amount of physical labor and many of the children suffered from ill health because of this. Most of the children have worked a minimum of 5 days a week, some even 7 days, with hours ranging from twelve to fourteen per day. The families visited suffered from poor amenities such as clean running water and sanitation also, many of them experienced severe food shortages and school dropping.

In order to save all these children from illiteracy and school dropping we have formed children clubs in each target villages and conducted parents, guardians and teachers meet to avail an opportunities to educate these deserving children. To support these children on need base we have provided schoolbags, uniforms dresses, note books, playing materials and education supportive materials. These all motivate them in continuing education.
